English

Hi, my name is Joey Kolumban, I live in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and this is my English page. When I decided to start blogging I realized that I should make multiple language pages, becaues I speak three different languages: Hungarian, Romanian and English. I dedicate this page to everyone that speaks English, you`re welcome to view and comment it, just don`t abuse please.

I guess I`ll give you a brief description of myself, I`m turning 17 this may and I`m mostly looking forward to the future, being a huge optimist. I`m a dedicated Manchester United FC fan, sadly I haven`t been to Old Trafford, due to the fact that it is extremely hard to get match tickets especially here in Romania. Even worse, we have to pay extra for Premier League matches on TV, so I mostly go to the only pub in town has live EPL matches to watch United. I`ve been a United fan since I was 13 and my favourite player is Wayne Rooney, because he is a perfect example of what Manchester United`s spirit means, he`s hard working, always gives 110% on the pitch and he`s got a skill for deadly cannonball shots. Amongst my other interests are music, I mostly listen to hardcore and old school rap, not that cheap gangsta rap that everyone seems to be doing these days (my favourite artists are Immortal Technique – alltime international favourite and Ombladon – alltime Romanian favourite), in rest I listen to almost any music genre, old school rock (The Stone Roses), dance (Junkie XL), et cetera. I like to party and have as much fun as possible, I`m also into a good booze-night now and then, cheap ale is one of my weaknesses. I`m in 10th grade now, so school eats up about 1/3 of my working days, in rest I`m into maths, my old man being a maths professor at the university, and the apple doesn`t fall too far from the three, but it`s more of a lifestyle than what many people think, just boring calculations, it`s about willing to evolve, to learn, to do something meaningful with your life, the desire to know, to become wiser. Although I`m not a great fan of programming, I like computer-relatev activities such as surfing the net, having a chat or two on yahoo messenger, I also do a bit of Adobe Photoshop and I also play video games, although I don`t play every commercial piece of crap they throw onto the market, I prefer RPGs, strategies and moslty games that have a meaning, a good story and gameplay. I also like to read but at my own free will, not what the educational system MAKES us read.

As I`ve said before, I live in Cluj, it`s Romania`s second biggest city and it`s located in the middle of Transylvania (and don`t come with that Dracula bullshit, he was just a stupid cunt of a sociopathic tiran, not a vamp as many “intelectual” foreigners think), it`s got a population of over 300.000 and it`s rather acceptable, has quite a few landmarks such as Hunyadi Matyas` (king of Hungary in the 16th century) house of birth and also other relatively important places if you`re a Hungarian (as before 1919 and inbetween 1940 and 1944 Transylvania and Cluj-Napoca, or Kolozsvar in Hungarian, belonged to Hungary). There`s also the Babes-Bolyai University, one of the best universities in the country (if not the best). We have and active sporting life as well, with two major clubs, CFR Cluj, who only have a football branch, but are on the top of the league table right now and U Cluj, who have more branches and in basketball and volleyball they`re among the best in the country, and in football they have a 1st division team, who looks to be relegatig this year. There`s also a huge rivalry between the two clubs and I`m proud to say that I support neither, being a consecrated Man United fan, but the rivalry has led to violence and yeah, sure, some healthy competition doesn`t hurt, but they`ve crossed the line and nobody in this country is capable of stopping sports violence at the moment.

Well, that`s the short version of my story, more English posts to follow, have fun!
